With Zenith having some success at turning the tide of public opinion in Alenroux against Meridian somewhat, the consensus from higher ups such as General Zaman and Tribune Cyrus is that it would be a show of weakness to withdraw now. So instead, they believe that combatting the Zenite efforts takes proving with actions, not words, that the military forces are a boon to making Alenroux safer for all.

Dextera, Liem Talbott, and Hayame are all gathered and tasked with leading an effort to head to the North section of the island of Alenroux to find the direct source of the creatures that inhabit the island and hopefully stop it. They’ll each be given a contingent of NPC soldiers to assist with the expedition, especially since it may take a few IC days. However, they’re also encouraged to include other Meridian Shard-Bearers, since their assistance would also prove invaluable.

However, when it comes to words, General Zaman does make sure to share and note the argument that Alenroux has been under Zenite control for generations, and yet they’ve done nothing to attempt to make the island inhabitable (and records will prove that this is true, if challenged). General Zaman suspects that there must be a reason for that. Considering the odd creatures and the whole matter with Manon, she personally believes that Yima must be working with Aetós, though she doesn’t know why. These are suspicions only shared with the three of them.

OOC, this is a chance for these three characters to be leaders and to work with other Meri characters. This will be structured roughly like the Beyond Side Quest where the group(s) will be given sets of obstacles to overcome, but how/why they occur will be left to player discretion so that it’s a fun, customizable opportunity. Groups of 2+ characters are recommended, but the obstacles may not be combat-oriented in nature. They will encounter 2 moderate obstacles, 1 difficult obstacle, and will find either the source of the creatures or Lore relating to it (this depends on how y’all choose to break out the groups).

While these three characters were told this information at the same time, whether you choose to work with the other two players OOC to make one large effort or to work more individually by creating your own group(s) is up to you. Regardless, once you have your player volunteers, head over to the Investigations page to submit your character’s general plan for heading North into Alenroux. Some things to consider/include will be what kind of military unit they choose to lead and how they lead them, the kinds of obstacles they prepare for, etc. If you choose to work with one of the other players that received this plot reward, only one submission is needed.
